Michelle McLean-Bailey


Michelle is an international TV personality, MC, Motivational Speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

She started her modeling career at 13 years, and went on to win the Miss Universe title in 1992 at the age of 19 years for Namibia. While living in Los Angeles from 1992 to 1995 she studied acting in Hollywood. All these experiences provided a valuable platform for her career in TV, business and for her many philanthropic endeavors.

Michelle has, over the years, presented numerous TV shows around the world and endorsed many products, previously a face for Lux Lotion. She also manages a demanding Master of Ceremonies and Speaker schedule for many international corporations. Her clients include among others; The World Economic Forum, Puma, Revlon, Levi Strauss, Volvo, Nike, Ford Motor Company, YouTube, MTV, Fortune Magazine, Louis Vuitton, FIFA World Cup Soccer, and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

Close to her heart is the Michelle McLean Children Trust, which she established in 1992 after winning Miss Universe. The Michelle McLean Primary School built in 2000 provides education for over 960 children. She established the Heart of a Child Foundation, for children with heart defects and other medical emergencies. In the winter months thousands of children throughout Namibia receive food, blankets and clothing. Bursaries, entrepreneurial and financial skills training as well as hundreds of other projects have been initiated and managed over the past 23 years, most notably ten projects with the famous actors and philanthropists Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Michelle was a host coordinator for the Miss Universe Pageant in Namibia in 1995.

In 1998 Michelle was recognized by Donald Trump, owner of Miss Universe Organization, and presented with The Life Time Achievement Award for her philanthropy work.
Recently Michelle hosted at the Global Forum, sponsored by Fortune Magazine and worked with the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland in 2009/2010 where she hosted an event for Former US President Bill Clinton.

She has co-owned a property, jewelery, marketing and media training company and is a qualified professional life coach.
Presently, apart from running her businesses and the MMCT in Namibia, Michelle is a Motivational Speaker on the topic of helping women cope with the demands of the beauty industry and self-esteem issues. As a duo, she travels and speaks with her husband Gary Bailey, a former Manchester United and England football goal keeper, now, also a professional international speaker, on the topic of “Success under Pressure”.

Michelle recently moved to Miami, Florida with Gary, and their four teenage children.
